DAY ONE

5/26/2025

Wisdom Von Schweetz makes its debut! To be frank, our booth looks underwhelming compared to the other booths available. Aside from that, my classmates have done a spectacular job in setting up an inviting atmosphere for passers-by! This event has made me realize that I would truly hate doing customer service. I understand the importance of putting on a smile for customers, I truly do. Aside from catering to the needs and wants of buyers, they must also feel welcomed and convinced to come back for more. Being a sourpuss in a work setting would ward them off. My one weakness is that I struggle to convey emotions I don't feel. Unless I'm held at gunpoint, how could I possibly be upbeat when I'm surrounded by heat and noise and unfamiliar company?

Rant aside, I ate at Jollibee with Isa during lunch time today! Our commute there took a little while because of traffic, but our way back to school was relatively quick. We ate our meals while switching from one topic to another. Later that night, my friends and I bought snacks before attending a mandatory play that was scheduled from 5 PM to 7 PM. I bought a hotdog for Danae while she bought me ice cream!

The play had a rather long title so I didn't bother to remember it. Also, it had a one-hour delay. Sweet! The actors did a fantastic job, though. Despite minimal props, they conveyed each sentiment and statement with such convincing body language and voice acting. So much so that, at some points, they felt as if they weren't in the gymnasium with us but rather a glimpse of a separate universe. I, along with the audience, was pretty engaged. Although I wasn't personally that invested with the plotline itself. It started off with the protagonist’s mother finding out that her husband cheated on her, they had a big fight that had me at the edge of my seat. After that scene, a time skip happens and we proceed to witness the perspective of our protagonist who proceeds to have a wholesome highschool romance with another girl. Lovely play but it would've been cool if the other characters fleshed out more. I was most especially curious about how the protagonist’s mother fared as a single parent.

DAY TWO

5/27/2025

Today is Pitch Con! In which ABM and GAS students send two sacrifices members from each Economics/Entrepreneurship group to present a pitch of their chosen product. Pitch Con doesn't have significance to me personally, but my friends Ayanna, Danae, and Sheena had to present for their respective groups. They all did fantastic jobs. The weather was sweltering hot today, same as yesterday. On a lighter note, I played Scrabble with Ayanna today and had the leading score!

DAY THREE

5/28/2025

Today is the final day of ABM and GAS Week. Instead of tending to our respective booths, ABM and GAS students are instead required to attend a debate competition and the culminating event. I opted to be absent today because I prefer getting an adequate amount of sleep.

Rather than the final day ABM and GAS Week, I will ramble about how I spent my lovely Friday within the comfort of my home. I drew on my sketchbook while listening to Metri — a YouTuber I discovered just today — react to the entirety of Mitski’s Puberty album. Mitski's music is amazing but my emotionally driven nature makes it difficult for me to listen to her songs on a daily basis. Regardless, rock on, Mitski!

I also watched a movie titled Interstellar, as per Isa’s suggestion. Interstellar was a fantastic watch but I cried at four separate scenes throughout watching it. I'm currently not motivated to make a full-fledged movie review but I'm deeply fond of how Intersellar conveys a message that we're connected by love — not strictly in a romantic sense — despite what obstacles may come our way. As Amelia Brand said in a scene, “Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space.” Overall, the movie is a fantastic watch that ends on a light note. However, I am forever a changed man who will be existentially bummed out over the ramifications of time.
